PUTNAM COUNTY, IN — Two Florida men were arrested on Wednesday for hauling $1 million in hydroponic marijuana hidden in a truck full of lettuce, police say.

Indiana State Police say that at 7:32 a.m., a tractor-trailer traveling eastbound on Interstate 70 was stopped for a routine commercial vehicle inspection near the 41-mile marker.

During the inspection process, the Trooper noticed several criminal indicators. When the Trooper searched the trailer, they found 260 pounds of hydroponic marijuana concealed within the legitimate load of fresh lettuce. Police say that the street value of an amount this size is estimated at $1,000,000.

The lettuce was being transported from Colorado to Florida.

The driver and co-driver, 33-year-old Jorge Blanco-Diaz, of Miami, Florida, and 40-year-old Adan Labanino Delacruz, of Cutler Bay, Florida, were taken into custody and incarcerated in the Putnam County Jail. They have both been charged with dealing marijuana.
