Sandbag locations open throughout the Tampa Bay area ahead of Subtropical storm Alberto

TAMPA BAY, Fla. — To prepare for the heavy rainfall brought by Subtropical storm Alberto, the Tampa Bay area is providing several sandbag locations so that citizens can prepare for the potential impact. Don't forget, when picking up sandbags, you must provide proper identification that shows you are a resident in that area (valid Driver's license or utility bill will work as identification).

So far, the following counties have opened sandbag locations:

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY

  • Edward Medard Park - 6140 S Turkey Creek Rd, Plant City, FL 33567
    • 4 PM - 7 PM, 5/27/18 
    • Limit of 10 per household and/or car
  • E.G. Simmons Park - 2401 19th Ave NW, Ruskin, FL 33570
    • 4 PM - 7 PM, 5/27/18  
    • Limit of 10 per household and/or car
  • ED Radice Sports Complex - 14720 Ed Radice Dr. Tampa, FL 33626
    • 4 PM - 7 PM, 5/27/18  
    • Limit of 10 per household and/or car

PASCO COUNTY

  • Magnolia Valley Golf Course Clubhouse - 7223 Massachusetts Ave, New Port Richey 
  • C-Barn (Public Works) - 30908 Warder Road, San Antonio
  • Pinehill Park - New Port Richey, 6420 Pine Hill Road

Open Friday, until 8 p.m. and Saturday, 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.

MANATEE COUNTY

  • Manatee County Transit & Fleet Facility - 2411 Tallevast Road - Available Friday until 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 26 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. 
  • Bradenton Public Works location - 705 13th Ave West. - Limit of 10 bags per vehicle. Proof of City residency required.

SARASOTA COUNTY

  • Newtown Estates Park - 2800 Newtown Blvd., Sarasota
  • Twin Lakes Park - 6700 Clark Road, Sarasota
  • South County Fleet Facility - 4571 Englewood Road, Venice

 Open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

HERNANDO COUNTY

  • Anderson Snow Park - 1360 Anderson Snow Road in Spring Hill - Open Saturday from 8 a.m. 5 p.m. - Self-serve, residents are asked to use the access road north of the tennis courts.
